Located in the heart of Adelaide’s bustling CBD, the iconic CBUS property underwent a transformative redevelopment to embody a harmonious work-life concept. Seamlessly integrating hospitality, wellness, and commercial functions, the precinct was brought to life by the visionary design of Woods Bagot.

The overarching goal was clear: to entice workers back into the office by offering a space that balances professional functionality with the comfort and warmth of home. Spaces were thoughtfully designed to foster collaboration, with cozy cocoons for teamwork and standout feature ceilings that deliver the ultimate “WOW” effect.

The challenge lay in creating a seamless fusion of aesthetic appeal and high performance—delivering a space that is not only visually stunning but also designed for the evolving needs of modern work-life integration.

The Atkar Solution

An iconic project like this demanded tailored solutions, crafted with precision down to the smallest detail. At the heart of the design was Au.diCube, the standout choice for the ground floor. Its stunning feature ceilings celebrated the essence of cubism with the rich timber veneer of Au.diMicro positioned at the rear facet delivering acoustic calm, making it ideal for high-traffic areas.

Au.diCube was also seamlessly integrated into wellness spaces and upper levels, where creating warmth and a cocoon-like ambiance was a priority. To elevate the design further, Au.diPanel with custom graphics featuring the talents of a local First Nations artist, was used in corridors and walkways. This addition not only enhanced the visual appeal but also embraced the design of the quiet pods, offering functional and serene spaces for focused work or relaxation.
