How to Design for Au.diBoard VoglFuge

A seamless, continuously perforated acoustic plasterboard ceiling delivers a striking feature to any project. Selecting the right product and finish for the project is paramount.

VoglFuge combines German engineering, the latest materials and years of research and development to deliver a stunning, continuously perforated acoustic ceiling.

A faultless VoglFuge finish can only be achieved by good installation practice, quality paints and specified application methods resulting in a minimum finished dry film thickness of 75 microns. A number of factors including appropriate lighting and paint colour selection can affect the final result and these should be considered at the design stage.

Plasterboard and paint systems must be installed and applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and those of the applicable Australian Standards for the performance and integrity, including the jointing and paint systems, for VoglFuge to be warranted.

How to ensure the perfect finish

  • -Use light coloured paint only
  • -Do not use gloss paint – gloss finish enhances every detail and imperfection
  • -Do not use a spray gun to paint plasterboard – spraying the paint may clog up the perforations and acoustic backing
  • -Apply paint with a short nap paint roller only – a long nap will ‘texture’ the surface
  • -Use a suitable sealer undercoat – not using the correct sealing method will increase the chance of joints showing through
  • -Use good quality paint – the viscosity of poor quality paint is generally less
  • -Allow sufficient drying time between coats – for a seamless finish
